Data is everywhere but tells us nothing when data comes in raw forms, like tables with numbers.
Indeed, the ability to become a critical data reader is a part of data literacy nowadays. Most challenging, we can use data to communicate ideas, something that it is usual in several types of texts by using graphics and statistical representations.
But transforming data into visual communication is only one part of the picture, the other one is to engage our audience with a narrative. Then, the reader and the communicator can become data storytellers!
In this workshop, organised in the context of the DETECT PROJECT we are going to learn the necessary skills to communicate our insights through interesting data stories. As a product of the workshop, we will craft our own data story. Then, we will analyse the results from a critical point of view.
The workshop will unfold in two phases:
1- Access to materials for self-paced learning through the SOLET "Self-Organised Learning Environment for Teachers"
2- Synchronous online workshop:
-
2:00-2:45 (UK) / 3:00-3:45 (SP-IT) / 3:00-3:45 (FI) - Presentation and Guided Activities
-
3:45-4:30 (UK) / 4:45-5:30 (SP-IT) / 5:45-6:30 (FI) - Plenary debate
Access to the materials and the platform will be provided after the registration.
